Fly away home!

Yay! I finally made it! I'm a real guide dog now! Yesterday was my graduation and my humom and dad came to watch me and my new best friend doing our thing.

Mom was so impressed at how I can guide and how calm and confident I am. It was a really proud moment. I was really happy to see my puppy raisers again. They got to chat with my new buddy and tell him all about when I was a cute little puppy. (Now I'm not little, just cute!)

I'm moving to King William's Town and will be flying there today. My new owner has to travel a lot - I wonder if they give frequent flyer miles to guide dogs? : )

To all my followers, thank you for your support and interest. I'm off to live my new life. It's been an incredible journey. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, that is to have succeeded!" Here's to success.

Love and licks to you all.

P.S. My folks have just got a new guide dog puppy to raise. Good luck little Jaia. You can do it!

1,2,3,4...

Hey everyone! Today is a special day for me. It's my 1234 day. I've been alive for 1 year, 2 months, 3 weeks and 4 days! I think my humom should buy me a birthday cake!

I've scored some extra leave and time with humom since my home has been quarantined. Some of my kennel buddies developed distemper (kind of like measels) even though they were vaccinated against it! Weird! But I'm not complaining... I get to run and play with Gus some more...YAY!

Well I must dash now...lots of playing to do... Have a great day everyone!

Happy 2011

Hey there everyone! I'm back home and LOVING being on holiday.
I didn't make it home for Christmas, but luckily I am getting much better and was able to come home for a few days to visit with Gus and Gypsey and my humans. In the picture you can just see my injury, but it's all better now.

Mom arranged for my girlfriend to come over. She's awesome. She has such a pretty smile!

This year I will finish my training and be teamed up with someone who can't see. What an awesome job! I am looking forward to the challenges that 2011 will bring. Here's wishing you all a wonderful year, filled with adventure, laughter and above all lotsa love and licks.
